- Sign up early so you can nail down the time, the date, and the location that best fits your schedule.
- You're college will probably know the closest location, but if you aren't sure then go to https://www.pearsonvue.com/ncees/locate/ to find the closest testing center.
- Civil FE specifications. Print that off and become intimately familiar with it.
- NCEES YouTube channel for all the nitty-gritty about the testing centers, time management, what the test looks like, etc.
- You have to bring the necessary ID when checking in for the exam. Don't forget it.
- The FE Reference Manual is a PDF that is searchable. Make sure you are very familiar with it BEFORE the exam. Buy one or download one for free at the NCEES website and use it for everything.
- If you are taking it after you've finished school or it wasn't required to graduate then you'll need more study time and probably more practice exams. Plan accordingly.
- You won't be prepared to answer EVERY question on the FE. Do your best, become familiar with the reference manual, and you'll be fine.
